Andrew is passionate about health, fitness and wellness, studying a combination of martial arts, strength training, and yoga for over 15 years. After suffering frequent bouts of illness and health issues himself, such as asthma and poor immune response, he realised the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
He started studying the physical effects of exercise, nutrition and mindfulness on the body to optimise his own health and be free of illness. Through his own personal journey, he has come to realise that “without our health, we cannot work, play or care for loved ones.” He is now driven to help others achieve the same in their life. Andrew integrates techniques and teachings from all his studies to provide a balanced and customised program to suit the individual needs of his clients.
Andrew’s deep understanding of body mechanics means he is able to teach the underlying movement principles required to ensure correct form – preventing injuries and greatly increasing functional strength. He has worked with everyone from mums to martial artists, including those recovering from illness and injury.
Strength training builds strong muscles, bones and connective tissue – all of which are linked to living a longer and healthier life. It improves mood, sharpens cognition, reduces stress, boosts metabolism, builds confidence and improves coordination. It protects against, and even reverses, many illnesses such as type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and heart disease.
